Yesterday's visit to St. Anne's Polyclinic Tagadzi North Tongu was very emotional for SOS CEO Denise Sears. “Seeing the infant warmer and hearing the medical director share how many babies that one item has saved, often 2-3 babies sharing a warmer, and then meeting and holding one of the first babies it helped…today is one of the most memorable experiences of my life.” #SOSGhanaTrip... SOS is expanding its reach in Owensboro! Yesterday, our team delivered 16,000 lbs. of supplies for Owensboro Public Schools and Daviess County Public Schools which serve over 16,000 students. Eight schools will receive medical items for student hands-on learning opportunities, and both school districts will receive medical supplies for student care at school and during athletics. Thank you to our partnering organization The Center, which will assist with distributing the supplies to the schools. ... See MoreSee Less
Yesterday was a very meaningful day for SOS team member Demetrius Wingate who saw firsthand the impact of SOS’s work. He met with the Medical Director of Ketu North District Hospital who shared her immense gratitude for the endoscopy tower they just received from SOS. Up until now, the closest one was located an hour away forcing them to “treat patients blindly." #SOSGhanaTrip... See MoreSee Less

Team SOS-- led by Denise Sears with Demetrius Wingate-- on their first full day in Accra, Ghana! After a couple of long days of travel, they had their first day of field visits-- meeting with Parliamentarian James Avedzi, their partner in bringing a massive shipment of supplies to 4 area hospitals, including the Ketu North District Hospital. The team also met the District Medical Director, who shared that the SOS shipment arrived just before the Dzgibe Hospital was going to take out a loan to get an anesthesia machine. Supplies are so scarce that patients often have to pay for them themselves and this often prevents them from seeking care-- making the SOS supplies life-changing for this population. They also had the privilege of delivering a suitcase full of supplies for a local eye care clinic. Check back for more soon! UPSParliament of Ghana#sosghanatrip... See MoreSee Less

Another incredible day for Denise Sears, Demetrius Wingate and the SOS team who visited St. Anne's Polyclinic Tagadzi North Tongu. SOS tools helped open a surgical suite which elevated St. Anne’s care from clinic to hospital. In addition to the OR suite, the equipment improved the hospital's lab diagnostics, the ER care, and the labor and delivery suite. The medical team reported they’ve been able to treat double the number of patients! This is how donations from our partner hospitals like Baptist Health Louisville, Norton Healthcare, Norton Children's, UofL Health - UofL Hospital save lives! 🙌 #SOSGhanaTrip ... See MoreSee Less
